Physical Vapor Deposition
The same type of long lasting finish you will find on expensive faucets, high-end door lock sets and premium watches.  Not only a beautiful finsih, but also extremely durable.  The finished brass parts are chromed as usual, but before assembly, the parts receive a final PVD finishing process.  The parts are placed in a vacuum chamber where a high power electric arc is discharged at the source material blasting away some into a highly ionized vapor which is deposited on the parts.  Our black colored PVD finish is accomplished with the use of Titanium Nitride.  It provides the following advantages:
Significantly harder exterior finish of 2500 HV
Coating Thickness of 0.2 to 0.3 micrometer
Incredible resistance to salt water corrosion
Increased scratch resistance
Very cool "tech look"
